When I first started creating mixed media art, I was always on the lookout for cool fonts. I LOVE text in art and especially when there are unique fonts.
Let's face it: typewriter fonts are everywhere. You can use Courier in your MS Office documents, and you can download others from font websites.
But do your fonts have random ink splatters that add to their appeal?
Do your fonts actually imprint into the page because of the impact of the typewriter keys?
Didn't think so.

I have such a love/hate relationship with typewriters. First, I too love the sound typewriters make. But my first encounter with a typewriter was in the 8th grade and I was stuck in a year long typing class rather than getting to take art with Mr. Willbanks (he was young and hot to an eighth grader). But knowing to type well served me well later on in life. I can still remember getting excited when I got an IBM selectric to type on at work. Of course, then switching over to computers was nothing. But I love the typing sound to this day.
